Indigenous-led · Far North Queensland

Connection, Care and Community.

Indigenous-led support for children, young people, families, carers and people with disability across Far North Queensland.

Who we are

A First Nations care organisation built on shared responsibility.

Garkazi Care provides culturally grounded, person-centred support across Far North Queensland. We work alongside children, young people, families, carers and people with disability to strengthen safety, identity, independence, wellbeing and connection.

Garkazi Care was established to provide holistic, community-oriented care that brings cultural identity together with social and emotional wellbeing. We are guided by the principle that it takes a village to raise a child.

Our practice approach

Social and Emotional Wellbeing

A Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) approach recognises that wellbeing is shaped by more than health alone. It considers the whole person and the relationships around them.
  • Connection to body and mind
  • Connection to family and kinship
  • Connection to community
  • Connection to culture and identity
  • Connection to Country
  • Connection to spirit and hope for the future

Through culturally capable practice, we aim to help young people understand their identity, strengthen their wellbeing and pursue lives filled with opportunity and purpose.

A note on our current service status

Garkazi Care describes its child and family service areas as capabilities. We do not currently present these as commissioned Queensland Government contracts, and we do not describe ourselves as a registered NDIS provider. Service availability and funding arrangements are confirmed with each person before supports commence.

Let's build a stronger pathway forward.

Whether you are seeking support, making a referral, exploring a partnership or considering a career with Garkazi Care, we welcome the opportunity to connect.
